Carve architecture is an architectural practice formed in 2011. Whilst architecture is our core discipline our work is closely supported by and entwined with specialisms in low energy design and building studies that inform and influence our design work.

Kate has specialised in building performance evaluation since 2006, working with the Usable Buildings Trust and Building Use Studies, amongst others, to carry out occupant, energy and transport surveys. Her work has continued since completing an MSc in Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies from the Centre for Alternative Technology and University of East London. Kate is currently writing up her PhD thesis at the University of Sheffield, which explores how volume house builder organisations learn to improve their production processes.
